A book discussion on "๐Ÿ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ• ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐๐š๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐๐ซ๐š๐ฃ๐ข๐ญ (๐’๐š๐ง๐š ๐‚๐ก๐š๐ก๐ข ๐€๐ก๐ฎ๐ฆ)" was held at UNACCO College, Khongman on 9 Feb 2024. The event was organised by the Intellectual Forum of North East Manipur and the college. The book reveals how Manipur joined the struggle of 1857, the first war of independence against British rule. Professor Naorem Lokendro, the chief guest, praised the book for its contribution to modern Indian history. He also said that the book will help researchers and scholars to learn more about Manipur's role in the freedom movement. The vice chancellor of Bodoland University, Professor Laishram Ladu Singh, spoke about the need to bring out the stories of the unsung heroes from the Northeast. He said that their histories are part of our collective memory and identity. The editors of the book are Dr Shukhdeba Sharma Hanjabam, Pukhrambam James Singh, and Moirangthem Tineshowri Devi. The vice chancellor of Dhanamanjuri University, Professor Nongmaithem Rajmuhon Singh, and the president of Manipur Seva Samiti, Dr Chingtham Chandramani Singh, also attended the discussion.
