A proud moment for the people of Assam as Chayan Dutta, an esteemed scientist from the state, is set to supervise the upcoming launch operations of India's long-awaited 'Chandrayan-3 mission. Chayan Dutta is currently working as a scientist/engineer-G at the UR Rao Satellite Centre, Department of Space, and is heading the "On Board Command Telemetry, Data Handling, and Storage System, Lander, Chandrayan-3" as Deputy Project Director.
Notably, the "Command and Data Handling Subsystem," which will be controlled by the team headed by Dutta, is regarded as the 'brain' of the orbiter and controls all spacecraft functions. Expressing his gratitude, Dutta said, "I am deeply honoured and humble to have been entrusted with this responsibility. This mission represents a significant milestone for our nation and the global scientific community."
Moreover, he is also an alumnus of Tezpur University's Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering whose achievement has been a big feat for the scientific community in Assam. Chandrayan 3, India's third lunar mission, will be launched by the Indian Space Research Organization on board the powerful Launch Vehicle Mark 3 from the Satish Dhawan Space Center on July 14.
