Special postal cover on Tutsa traditional headgear released

The Department of Posts released a special postal cover of the traditional headgear of the Tutsa tribe, khonchok khopok, here in Tirap district on Tuesday, in the presence of MLA Wanglam Sawin and DC Hento Karga. 
 
 
The MLA said that “the release of the special cover of the Tutsa headgear will encourage the younger generation of the tribe to understand more about the value of the khonchok khopok and the importance of preserving their age-old traditional attires.”

Arunachal Pradesh division, superintendent of posts Jayanta Bhatacharya appreciated All Tutsa Welfare Society (ATWS) for its keen interest in the endeavour and it will be kept in philately museum to  disseminate information about culture and traditions of Tusta. He also highlighted various postal services.

 Tirap DC Hento Karga, as guest of honour, lauded postal department for selecting the traditional headgear of Tutsa for special cover.

Khonsa post office postmaster Chowang Wangsa,  ATWS chairman Tediap Hallang, HoDs, student leaders, were present, among others.

Highlighting about importance of Khonchok Khopok and its product, APO Telem Kitnya earlier said that head gear is one of the inseparable attires of  Tutsa community used during festive events.
